Levent is commercial projects partner in London with extensive experience advising on projects in the renewable energy sector. Much of the work that he does relates to innovations in that field.
The energy sector is in a state of flux as we transition to an increasingly low carbon, smart and decentralised energy system. Levent helps clients to navigate this new energy landscape, advising on a wide range of projects in order to commercialise opportunities created by energy market regulation, policy and market drivers.
The first part of his practice involves advising funders, developers and contractors in connection with the development, acquisition and/or disposal of renewable generation assets, including solar, wind, energy from waste and biomass projects.
More recently this has also included projects using battery storage and corporate power purchase agreements – allowing corporations to procure renewable power directly from generators and facilitating the development of new-build subsidy-free renewable projects across the globe.
The second area of Levent's practice focuses on energy management, where he helps clients to implement energy management strategies to achieve strategic priorities such as reducing their carbon footprint, reducing energy consumption and using renewable power. This includes working on energy performance contracts, on-site generation projects and advising property companies on district utility schemes for residential or mixed use developments.
Outside of work, Levent is a Governor at a local primary school in Twickenham. This has given him experience in setting strategic priorities, assessing and monitoring performance and being part of a senior leadership team. Levent draws upon this experience to provide commercially focused advice that meets his clients' needs every day.
