Nichola Johnston

Nichola is a Legal Director, based in London.

Nichola has over 20 years of experience defending civil claims on behalf of the police and other public sector bodies. She has particular expertise in claims involving misfeasance in public office, malicious prosecution, excessive use of force and wrongful arrest. She also has extensive experience advising on claims arising from physical and sexual abuse. Her practice regularly involves the Human Rights Act and complex issues of vicarious liability.

Prior to specialising in police and local authority litigation, Nichola spent several years defending catastrophic clinical negligence claims. This has given her a strong grounding in complex medical causation, expert evidence and high value claims, enabling her to bring a broad and strategic perspective to complex, sensitive and high profile litigation.
