Phil qualified in 2009 and joined Weightmans in July 2013 as a solicitor in the local government team in the Manchester office, before moving to the Liverpool office in September 2015 and becoming an associate in September 2017.
He currently manages one of the two casualty teams in the Liverpool office.
He handles a wide variety of public liability and employers' liability claims for local authorities, housing associations, schools, colleges and universities.
He has been heavily involved in numerous mock trial training events across the north of England.
He successfully acted for the local authority in the widely discussed matter of Heath McCabe v Cheshire West & Chester Council & BAM Nuttall Ltd that looked at questions of misfeasance and non-feasance and powers vs duties.
Having previously specialised in cases involving EL/PL Fraud, Phil maintains a particular interest in this area.
