Rachael Fawcett

Rachael joined Weightmans in 2010 and qualified as a solicitor in 2015.
Rachael is based in our Liverpool office and deals with a wide variety of public liability and employers' liability claims against local authorities, schools/universities and academies and housing associations.
Rachael has a particular interest in claims against landlords and housing providers relating to allegations of disrepair. She works closely with the firm's property litigation team providing advice and training on personal injury claims brought under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and the Defective Premises Act 1972. She has recently provided training on how to deal with personal injury claims linked to disrepair to a housing association.
Rachael also has experience of dealing with claims involving flooding, public and private nuisance (to include Japanese Knotweed claims), data protection, occupational stress and fraud.
She is regularly involved in delivering training events for clients and has recently been called upon to advise highway authorities on the requirements of the new Code of Practice for highway maintenance.
