Richard Briggs

Richard joined us in February 2021 and was promoted to Partner in May 2022, having previously been a partner at Browne Jacobson.  He has worked for NHS clients for over 16 years. He advises healthcare clients in connection with their clinical negligence claims. He is experienced at resolving claims efficiently and fairly, and in helping our clients learn from them. His caseload ranges across all medical disciplines and includes the most complex and severe claims.

On joining the team, he took on a retiring partners’ case load and the review of our processes for managing prelitigation screening instructions which are of significant volume across the country. He has revised the working practices, set up a dedicated team, and uses client’s delegated authority to approve advice to provide a nationally consistent product and service.  His leadership in this regard whilst continuing to work on complex high value claims is worthy of recognition.
