Biography

Rose is a regulatory lawyer specialising in advising individual, public sector, corporate, and insurer clients in respect of criminal and regulatory investigations following serious health and safety incidents. 

She represents clients facing investigation and prosecution for regulatory and criminal offences including motor crime, health and safety, neglect, and gross negligence/corporate manslaughter.

Rose regularly acts on behalf of Interested Persons in respect of complex Article 2 and jury inquests. She has a special interest in representing the emergency services.

Rose qualified as a solicitor in 2020 and joined the regulatory team at Weightmans in 2022. She is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association.

Notable cases

Health and Safety

  • Advising a sports club in relation to an EHO investigation following a fatal accident at a national sporting event;
  • Advising a Local Authority in respect of police and HSE investigations following a fatal accident on a construction site; and
  • Advising a prosecuting authority in respect of its investigation following a fatal accident at a hotel.

Inquests and Public Inquiries

  • Representing an emergency services Core Participant in the Manchester Arena Inquiry;
  • Representing an Interested Person at an inquest into the death of a scout at the Great Orme;
  • Regularly representing the Police in complex Article 2 inquests, including missing person and homicide investigations; and
  • Representing Ambulance and NHS trusts in healthcare inquests.
