Biography

Sarah is a highly experienced commercial disputes lawyer with a broad range of experience in complex high profile commercial disputes as well as acting for individuals.

A keen advocate of finding pragmatic and commercial solutions for her clients she has assisted many clients to resolve their disputes by achieving early settlement through to trial success.

Sarah’s experience includes advising on complex financial products that have been missold as well as advising FCA regulated firms in relation to commercial disputes, regulatory responsibilities and consumer duty.

Sarah has also dealt with partnership disputes including solicitors’ partnership disputes breach of contract and warranty claims, shareholder actions and unfair prejudice issues as well as fraud claims and regulatory disputes.

Sarah is also very experienced in all types of professional negligence disputes against solicitors, surveyors, architects, accountants and financial advisers.

As a Non-executive Director, Sarah has deep understanding of the issues Directors face in the boardroom, and the impact disputes have on any business.

Sarah has acted for numerous individuals in contested will and probate disputes and is a member of ACTAPs.

Sarah has detailed knowledge of litigation funding and the options available to clients.

Notable cases

  • Negotiated settlement terms on a £MM IT dispute for a major telecoms company that enabled project completion;
  • Resolved a £MM claim brought against a door manufacturer following Glenfell;
  • Led multifaceted group action of investors in claims against directors of the financial products;
  • Settled a £MM dispute between Registered Provider and Council in a breach of warranty claim.;
  • Acted for a lender in relation to a large-scale broker fraud;
  • Recovered £MM in a Finance Director fraud and subsequent auditors’ negligence claim;
  • Acting for Company in relation to negligently implemented tax scheme resulting in £MM demand from HMRC;
  • Judicial Review against HMRC in relation to the Loan Charge review and Finance Act 020; and
  • Successfully acting for Company in contractual interpretation dispute obtaining a declaration from the High Court and securing a £MM benefit for the client.
