Simran has experience in all areas of Private Client work and advises her clients on a wide range of matters, including inheritance tax and estate planning. She undertakes the preparation of bespoke Wills tailored to individual needs and wishes and Lasting Powers of Attorney for both Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs. She handles Grant applications in a range of circumstances, including where Wills have been misplaced, where executors have renounced their role and where an executor has died after a Grant has been issued but before the estate has been fully administered. She is experienced in the administration of both taxable and non-taxable estates, testate and intestate, including those with complex elements such as foreign assets and trust interests.

She ensures that all available reliefs are claimed when administering taxable estates, including (but not limited to) the transferable nil rate band, transferable residence nil rate band, annual exemptions where there has been lifetime gifting and business property relief in cases involving business interests. She creates various trust structures, including discretionary trusts, and assists trustees with their compliance obligations, including fulfilling HMRC’s Trust Registration requirements. She advises beneficiaries on their options following a death, including post death variations, and prepares Deeds of Variation where appropriate.
