Biography

Sophie is an Associate working in the commercial litigation team, based in our Leeds office. Sophie deals with a wide range of complex corporate and commercial disputes, including high value matters in the County Court, High Court (including the Business & Property Courts) and the Court of Appeal. She advises on contractual claims, negligence, nuisance, shareholder disputes (including unfair prejudice petitions and breach of directors duties), restraint of trade matters (including employee restrictive covenants and injunctive relief) and intellectual property infringement disputes. Sophie has also dealt with matters in the Court of Appeal, including obtaining Permission to Appeal.

Sophie has significant experience in large disclosure exercises, being proficient in the use of multiple e-disclosure platforms. Sophie explores third party funding where relevant, and is heavily involved in alternative dispute resolution, utilising without prejudice save as to costs negotiations and assisting with numerous mediations as an alternative route to resolving disputes.

She is regularly instructed by a variety of clients including individuals, corporate bodies, insurers and owner-managed businesses.
