The firm will draw on its expertise to provide HALA members with specialist employment law support
Weightmans has been appointed to Lot 6 of the Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance (HALA) legal services framework.
The new framework is estimated to be worth £96 million over four years and will provide legal services to HALA’s growing membership of housing associations across England and Wales.
HALA has grown significantly since it was established, increasing from four member organisations in 2010 to 51 today. Collectively, its members manage around 500,000 homes across England and Wales, making the framework an important route for the provision of specialist legal advice to the social housing sector. Weightmans is one of 21 law firms appointed to the latest framework.
Through the appointment, Weightmans will be able to provide HALA members with specialist employment law support, drawing on the firm’s experience advising organisations on the legal and workforce issues affecting employers.
Rebecca Cairney, Partner at Weightmans, said:
“We are delighted to have been appointed to the Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance framework for Employment legal services. Social housing providers operate in a complex and continually evolving environment, where effective management of people and employment issues plays an important part in delivering services to residents and communities.
“Our appointment gives us a valuable opportunity to work with HALA members, combining employment law expertise with a practical understanding of the challenges facing organisations across the sector. We are very much looking forward to building new relationships and supporting members throughout the life of the framework.”
The framework commenced in October 2026 and will run until October 2029, with the option to extend until October 2030.
