Weightmans rewarded with ISO certifications in environment and energy management

Weightmans has achieved ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications for the fifth year in a row.

Developed by ISO - the International Organisation for Standardisation – ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 helps firms implement management system programs to reduce their environmental and energy impact on their operations. For Weightmans, implementing these has provided the top 40 law firm with an operational framework to work towards its commitment to becoming Net Zero by 2030.

Other business benefits have been its ability to reduce its energy consumption each year, resulting in cost savings and a reduction in its carbon footprint.

“We are proud to once again achieve both ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, which is further recognition for the work we are doing in our ambition to be one of the UK’s most socially and environmentally conscious law firms.

“We are committed to the long-term sustainability of our planet and will continue to do all we can to ensure our operations exceed environmental standards.”

The news comes after Weightmans received the highest Platinum rating by EcoVadis, a global sustainability rating provider, positioning it in the top 1% of legal and accounting businesses globally for ESG/sustainability performance and processes.

In July 2024, the firm leaped from Silver to Platinum after scoring high in the following areas: Environment, Ethics, Labor and Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement, all of which were rated good and above.
