Law firm delivers fifth consecutive year of growth, £17m net profit and £2,500 bonus for all employees
Weightmans has reported a record year in 2025/26, with revenue increasing by 12% to £162m and net profit rising by 17% to £17m.
The results mark the firm’s fifth consecutive year of growth and reflect continued disciplined progress against its strategy. In recognition of the firmwide contribution to this performance, every employee will receive a bonus of £2,500.
International revenue also grew strongly, increasing 16% year-on-year. During the year, the firm launched its international desks and developed a close working relationship with Irish law firm Whitney Moore (whom it also welcomed into the ILG network) to enhance its cross-border capability.
2025/26 was Sarah Walton’s first year as Managing Partner. During the year, the firm introduced a refreshed strategy, vision and values, and strengthened its Board with the appointments of Caroline Johnson (Claims Director) and Duncan Finch (Non-Executive Director). The firm also promoted two female partners to the equity partnership – Catriona Wolfenden (Product and Innovation) and Jane Price (Client Partner, AIG) – reflecting its continued focus on innovation, collaboration and client delivery.
Weightmans further expanded its national footprint and service offering by opening a new office in Nottingham. This momentum has continued into the new financial year through the mergers with Elborne Mitchell and Myton Law, increasing the firm’s presence in London and Leeds; it has also strengthened its capability in Scotland with the addition of a specialist immigration team in Glasgow.
The firm has continued to invest in technology and client-led solutions, partnering with Verisk to launch Fraud Rely, an advanced anti-fraud platform, and with Clio Operate to roll out a new case and matter management system across the firm.
Market recognition remained strong, with a record 617 lawyers ranked across Legal 500 and Chambers UK, including 22 top-tier practice areas. During the year, Weightmans welcomed 26 lateral partner hires, which, together with internal promotions, brings the partnership to 265, alongside a new intake of trainees and apprentices.

The results follow continued external recognition of the firm’s culture, ESG and inclusion agenda.
Weightmans was named a UK Top Employer for the 19th time, ranked in the top ten by the Top Employers Institute, and achieved its highest-ever position in the Social Mobility Employer Index. The firm was also listed as one of The Times Best Law Firms 2026. In September 2025, Weightmans received EcoVadis Gold status, placing it among the top 5% of firms globally for sustainability, and was named as one of the UK’s top twenty law firms for greenhouse gas performance in The Lawyer Emissions Tracker. The firm also received several external accreditations recognising its inclusion agenda and was awarded Gold at the Drum Awards for its ‘See the Possibility’ campaign.
