Biography

Charlotte is a Principal Associate within the family law team. She advises a broad range of clients on all aspects of relationship breakdowns including separation, divorce and civil partnership dissolution, and the related financial and children matters.

Charlotte has wide experience in divorce and dissolution, and the financial consequences. She undertakes a full range of cases including complex and high-value matters including overseas assets, businesses, pensions and trusts, in addition to cases with third party involvement and cases where housing and income needs are a priority. She also advises on cases where a financial agreement has previously been reached and one party is now seeking to vary or enforce that agreement. Charlotte is also experienced in pre and post nuptial agreements.

Charlotte has a particular interest in how family structures have changed over the last few decades and feels strongly about the importance of cohabitees and unmarried parents knowing their rights and ensuring that they are financially protected in the event of a relationship breakdown. She advises couples on cohabitation and separation agreements including the ownership of properties and potential claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act and Schedule 1 of the Children Act.

She also regularly advises all types of parents about the arrangements for their children and co-parenting agreements including specific issues such as one parent moving away either within England or to another country, choice of nurseries and schools, and medical treatments including vaccinations. She deals with complex children cases involving parental alienation, allegations of coercive control, addiction issues, and domestic abuse.

Charlotte also advises clients in domestic abuse matters, and has experience in acting for both applicants and respondents in non-molestation order and occupation order applications.

Charlotte is a member of Resolution, is an Accredited Specialist in Complex Financial Remedies and Domestic Abuse and was named as a Key Lawyer in the Legal 500 2021.

Charlotte is part of the winning team named Family Law Firm of the Year at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards.
