620 Weightmans experts listed across Chambers and Legal 500 and 24 top tier rankings
Weightmans has announced a record number of lawyers ranked in leading legal directories, featuring 620 experts across the guides (up from 617 last year).
In the latest editions of the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK legal directories, the firm has also been recommended as a top-tier firm in 24 practice areas (up from 22 last year) across the two and is listed across 155 areas altogether (142 last year).
The areas in which Weightmans rank for the first time (19 in total) include Private Wealth (Birmingham and Leeds), Family/Matrimonial (Glasgow and London) and Transport (North West, West Midlands and Yorkshire).
In the Legal 500, 71 lawyers have been included in the ‘leading partners’ listing (up from 52 last year), with 27 being named as ‘next generation partners’ (equalling last year), four named ‘hall of fame partners’, and another 22 ‘leading associates’. In Chambers, 111 Weightmans’ lawyers are ranked as ‘leading partners’.
It follows the firm scoring a record number of rankings in the Chambers High Net Worth 2026 Guide in the summer, seeing increasing recognition in the marketplace for its Private Client teams across the country (seven), including new and improving rankings for 15 of its practitioners.

The Legal 500 is widely regarded ‘as offering one of the most comprehensive and definitive reviews of law firms worldwide’, while Chambers & Partners Guide UK is recognised as ‘the most widely used directory within the legal sector’.
The announcement comes after the firm reported record results for the 2025/26 financial year, with revenue increasing by 12% to £162 million and net profit rising by 17% to £17 million. The results mark the firm's fifth consecutive year of growth and reflect continued disciplined progress against its strategy.
International revenue also grew strongly in this period, increasing 16% year-on-year, with the launch of its international desks and a new working relationship with Irish law firm Whitney Moore (whom it also welcomed into the ILG network) to enhance its cross-border capability.
Weightmans has also expanded its national footprint and service offering by opening a new office in Nottingham. This momentum has continued into this new financial year through the mergers with Elborne Mitchell and Myton Law, increasing the firm’s presence in London and Leeds, as well as strengthening its capability in Scotland with the addition of a specialist immigration team in Glasgow.
