Weightmans advises on sale of Century Logistics

The multidisciplinary team at Weightmans, led by Paul Raftery, Partner and Head of OMBs, provided legal support throughout the deal, which completed at the end of February. Weightmans has worked with Century Logistics for a number of years, so were able to provide in-depth expertise and guidance to the firm throughout the process.

Founded by Stephen and Ann Basey-Fisher, Century Logistics manages seven distribution sites strategically located along the A14 corridor, between the Golden Triangle and the port of Felixstowe – the UK’s biggest and busiest container port.

Metro Supply Chain has been operating in the UK since 2016 when it acquired Evolution Time Critical. In 2021, the company expanded operations to include five facilities in Wales dedicated to defence sector logistics.

With the acquisition of Century Logistics, Metro Supply Chain manages more than 12 million square feet in over 80 distribution centres across North America and Europe.

Steve and Ann Basey-Fisher have built up  highly impressive third party logistics business which under Metro Supply Chain’s new ownership looks set to further expand, and we are delighted to have been able to be part of this process.”
