Biography

Hayley has 20 years’ experience in the aviation and travel industry with the majority of her legal career spent at the Monarch Group including Monarch Airlines and Holidays.

She acted in-house for the Airline and Tour Operator initially in a paralegal capacity rising to Head of Claims for the Group having responsibility for all pre and post-litigation arising from Regulation EC261/2004 for delays, cancellation and denied boarding, personal injury claims including Montreal Convention 1999 claims, claims arising from Regulation EC1107/2006 concerning Passenger’s with Reduced Mobility (“PRMs”), all employee and public liability claims. For Monarch Holidays, Hayley handled all advisory work and claims arising from the Package Travel Regulations 1992, ranging from low value holiday sickness/personal injury claims to complex high value catastrophic injury claims, including cases concerning tour operator liability for sexual assault.

Since moving into private practice, the variety of her work has broadened into instructions from both private clients and insurers in relation to various types of aircraft in both an advisory and claims handling perspective. Hayley has acted in an advisory capacity in relation to the application of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 for both airlines and existing tour operator/travel agents. Hayley has also acted for clients in dispute over ATOL cover and responsibilities for ATOL holders.
