Biography

Naomi is a partner in the International Private Wealth team. She has over 13 years experience advising businesses, families and individuals in all aspects of structuring and protecting their private wealth.

She is well known by her contacts, clients and peers as having stand out expertise in agriculture and rural affairs; ensuring wealth is passed to the next generation through family arrangements and provides strategic tax planning and advice on succession.

She is a fully qualified STEP (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) and a member of the Agricultural Law Association.

She has particular expertise in the administration of complex estate administration which includes high net worth and diverse assets including landed estates and family businesses. 

Naomi is able to assist with bespoke wills including trusts covering agricultural and business assets to mitigate tax.

Notable work

  • Advising a high net worth family with a 2,000 acre estate on the disposal and acquisition of land; the diversification of the business and the tax implications of the same.

  • Assisting a high profile client in relation to the sale of land in relation to an estate, including a full tax report and consideration of future planning on the land and agricultural property relief.

  • Administering a landed estate and advice in relation to heritage property for which tax relief was successfully obtained.

  • Creation of a bespoke will for a land owner wishing to gift a number of parcels of land to a different beneficiaries as well as consideration of a trust in relation to relievable assets for inheritance tax.

  • Advising business owners on lifetime trusts in order to avoid unnecessary tax.

  • Assisting beneficiaries in relation to historical family trusts which included advice on the surrendering of a beneficial interest in a trust and the associated inheritance tax, capital gains tax, income tax and SDLT issues to consider.
