Broadstone x Weightmans

Weightmans and Broadstone are co-hosting a joint session focusing on the Bank of England’s Supervisory Statement SS 5/25, exploring its progress, benefits, and key challenges.

This is a free of charge event that promises to be both insightful and engaging, focusing on several key topics shaping the landscape of climate risk management. Hosted by Weightmans and Broadstone, the session will focus on the Bank of England PRA Supervisory Statement SS5/25, as well as practical steps which should be taken ahead of the June 2026 deadline.

The session will begin by exploring the emergence of climate risk, including direct, litigation, and transitional risks, with special attention to the Bank of England's SS 5/25 as you would expect. This discussion will provide valuable context on current regulatory expectations and evolving challenges in the field.

We will also delve into the importance of a robust competency management framework using a classic 3-pillar approach model, which could serve as the foundation for driving effective climate risk management within organisations. Understanding how to build and sustain such a skill-gap framework will be critical for those looking to strengthen their teams and processes.

Additionally, the event will feature a brief overview of approaches to climate scenario analysis, offering practical guidance on how to assess and prepare for potential futures in a rapidly changing environment.

This session follows on from our recent podcast and will build on the work already underway across our teams to help in-scope organisations navigate the increasing supervisory focus on climate resilience.
