Weightmans’ associate wins STEP Worldwide Excellence Award

Lorraine Wilson, an associate in Weightmans’ wills, trusts and estates team has been awarded a STEP Worldwide Excellence Award for her achievement as the highest scoring graduate in the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (England and Wales) across all 2021 graduates. 

The STEP Worldwide Excellence Awards celebrate exceptional student achievement by recognising the highest achievers across all STEP qualifications globally. Last year, Lorraine was also awarded the STEP Excellence Award for obtaining the highest score in the STEP Advanced Certificate in Administration of Trusts (England and Wales) examinations in 2020.

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners specialising in inheritance and succession planning. STEP members are recognised as experts in the sector and membership is widely acknowledged as the benchmark qualification which many private client solicitors strive for. 

Membership of STEP demonstrates commitment to high professional standards and continued professional development. The process to becoming fully STEP qualified is rigorous, ensuring the highest professional standards are upheld. Students are required to complete a number of examinations, gaining detailed technical knowledge of the legal issues surrounding trust and estate administration and taxation. This develops practitioners into expert advisors who provide high quality, holistic advice to clients.
