Matt is an Associate in the Corporate team based in Manchester. Matt qualified as a solicitor in 2021 and joined Weightmans in 2025.

Matt advises clients on a range of corporate matters, with a particular focus on M&A transactions. In addition to share sales and purchases, he has experience in group reorganisations, investments, shareholder arrangements, and general company law issues. 

Matt has around a decade of experience advising on corporate transactions and providing commercially focused advice to clients. Matt acts for national and international corporate clients as well as owner-managed businesses across a broad range of sectors including technology, healthcare, sports, energy, and manufacturing. 

Transactions that Matt has acted on include:

•    advising the chairman of an English football league club on the sale to a large US buyer;
•    advising an international construction businesses on several strategic purchases of complementary construction businesses in the UK;
•    advising the shareholders of an IT Support business on a sale to a private equity buyer; and
•    advising a market leading technology production company on the purchase of an established business in the same sector.
