Mediating disputes in GP practices

Disputes in GP practices are expensive, time consuming and, in the extreme, have the potential to present an existential threat. When they arise, is the cure a protracted legal battle, or does mediation offer GPs the opportunity to heal themselves?

Over the last year, Weightmans has seen an increase in mediation (a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution – “ADR”) being used to quickly and cost effectively resolve disputes in GP practices. This benefits the individuals and practices involved, as well preserving the resources of the PCNs and Local Medical Committees who might otherwise become involved.

In this webinar mediator and dispute resolution expert Andrew Cromby, and GP specialist Edwina Farrell, consider why disputes are so common in GP Practices and explain what mediation is, how it works and what the participants can expect to get out of the process.

This must-see webinar will be of interest to GPs, Practice Managers, Local Medical Committee Officers, PCN Members, and those involved in the day to day running of medical practices who wish to extinguish disputes which, if permitted to continue, could impact negatively on the functionality, effectiveness, and harmony of their surgeries.
