Supply chain attacks pose a threat to a range of sectors, specifically transport and logistics, insurance and emergency services.

Recent months has evidenced this, with retail giants Marks & Spencer and Co-op both being hit by crippling cyberattacks and temperature-controlled logistics provider Peter Green Chilled also impacted by a cyber incident.

Transport & logistics

Supply chain attacks are one of the fastest-growing threats to the transport and logistics sector. Increasingly, cybercriminals are shifting focus from direct attacks on businesses to exploiting the vulnerabilities in their suppliers and many businesses are dangerously unprepared.

Insurers

Insurers face increasing exposure to cyber risks across the board. Recently, Scattered Spider, the cyber threat group behind the Marks and Spencer, Harrods and Co-op breaches has pivoted to target insurers, with Google’s Threat Intelligence Group issuing a warning that the industry should be on high alert.

Emergency services

Emergency services also pose an attractive target to cybercriminals with the Synnovis attack in June 2024 leading to over 10,000 appointments postponed and months of disruption across the NHS. Full system recovery took nearly four months, and, in recent weeks, a patient’s death has been officially linked to this cyber incident.

Although it is too early to say whether the attacks are linked, the complexity of modern, global supply chains makes it increasingly easy for cyber threats to infiltrate through indirect channels.

The event

If you're concerned about your organisation’s exposure to cyber threats, or just not sure where to start, this event will help you build resilience by providing insightful talks and actionable guidance alongside key expert analysis on the role of AI with video telematics and how the evolving technology is transforming road safety and risk management across a range of industries due to its adaptable nature.

We will dive into what AI is and how it works leading onto an overview of video telematics, what it involves and how it operates along with its benefits, whilst also focusing on how data can be used to predict risk.

The event will take place on Thursday 18 September in Manchester and is hosted in collaboration with VUE. This event is free to attend.
