617 Weightmans experts listed across Chambers and Legal 500, plus 22 top tier rankings
Weightmans has announced a record number of lawyers ranked in leading legal directories, featuring 617 experts across the guides (up from 563 last year).
In the latest editions of the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK legal directories, the firm has also been recommended as a top-tier firm in 22 practice areas across the two and is listed across 142 areas altogether.
The areas in which Weightmans ranks for the first time (12 in total), include Real Estate: High Value Residential, Family/Matrimonial (Yorkshire), Inquests (UK), Real Estate Litigation (North West), Environment (London) and Local Government (West Midlands).
In the Legal 500, 52 lawyers have been included in the elite ‘leading partners’ listing (up from 48 last year), with 27 being named as ‘next generation partners’ (up from 20), six named ‘hall of fame partners’, and another 18 ‘leading associates’. In Chambers, 117 Weightmans’ lawyers are ranked as ‘leading partners’ (up from 102 last year).
Sarah Walton, who became Weightmans’ Managing Partner in April, said:
"I am delighted to see Weightmans recognised once again so highly in the latest rankings, which is a testament to the exceptional calibre of our people and teams - not only here in the UK, but on the international stage.
“Our people are the beating heart of the firm; their expertise and passion for delivering outstanding client service set us apart and underpin our ongoing success. It’s fantastic to witness our continued momentum, and I am immensely proud of everything we are achieving together."
The Legal 500 is widely regarded ‘as offering one of the most comprehensive and definitive reviews of law firms worldwide, while Chambers & Partners Guide UK is recognised as ‘the most widely used directory within the legal sector’.
The announcement comes after the firm reported record revenue of £145 million for the financial year ending March 31, 2025 - a 3.4% increase on the previous year, representing four years of consecutive growth, and building on its record-breaking results in 2023/24.
