Afsor specialises in real estate finance and has substantial experience acting for banks, lenders, investors and other financial institutions advising them on a variety of real estate, landlord and tenant and finance issues both on residential property and commercial property. He has a strong interest in Islamic Finance, having previously spent nearly 8 years acting for several Islamic Banks both in the UK and internationally.

Afsor has extensive experience in acting on high-value residential property, developments and portfolios often involving high net worth individuals, SPVs and private wealth fund managers investing in the UK property market.

Notable cases

• Advised a Bank providing finance to members of royal families in the Middle East secured against central London property worth £14m – £16m.
• Advised a UK Company in the acquisition of a Cypriot SPV that owned a shopping Plaza in the UK consisting of 20 retail units. Also dealing with the subsequent vacating of the existing tenants and eventual development into a large residential development.
• Advised a Middle Eastern Bank in setting up Ijarah (leasing) financing facility for individuals based in GCC, MENA and UAE purchasing central London properties.
