Before joining Weightmans, Bavita was the Head of Legal Services at the RAC. She has significant experience in leading change within a complex organisation having set up one of the earliest commercially owned legal services companies.
She managed the practice through its most vigorous period growth in terms of size and fee income focusing on operational efficiency through use of IT and developing streamlines processes and procedures.
Bavita joined Weightmans as Head of Litigation Operations in 2006 and developed, articulated, and implemented the strategy for fast track claims. She had wide-ranging responsibilities from sales, client management to strategic direction as well as bringing together system reforms and improvements, with particular focus on case management.
In 2014, she was appointed as the Insurance Sector lead responsible for growing the firm’s revenues from this complex sector. She worked closely with the Director of Insurance, head of practice areas, partners and business development managers, developing a cohesive plan across business lines, developing products, monitoring progress against target prospect clients as well as supporting the client relationship partners in growing key insurance clients.
Bavita now leads the broker sector with responsibility for strategic development focusing on growth generation. She also actively participates in the corporate segment, looking for synergies and developing commercial propositions for insurers and brokers.
As the client and innovation lead of the Political and Market Advisory Group, Bavita advises clients on political and market developments. This means continued presence in the market place as well as regular interaction and engagement with organisations such as the Ministry of Justice, Forum of Insurance Lawyers and Association of British Insurers.
She is also the editor of the insurance magazine InView which allows her to put her creative skills as well as her in-depth knowledge of the segment into practice and write about issues that are topical and of relevance to the sector and provide practical guidance on what this means to our clients.
Bavita is seen as a “trusted adviser” to a number of our patron clients. She has sat on clients’ claims transformation projects and has played an active role in evaluating needs, planning and delivering business change and improving operational efficiencies. Her experience extends to launching innovative solutions/services and her business goal is to provide exemplary and innovative service through inspirational and diligent leadership.
