Although based in the East Midlands (Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire) the team operates nationally with clients referred from each of the Weightmans’ regional offices.
A Dementia Friend Champion and member of Solicitors for the Elderly, Beverley’s focus is always on the individual, achieving their goals and safeguarding their best interests.
As a member of the Court of Protection Professional Deputy Panel, she deals with challenging and sensitive issues for some of the most vulnerable clients: issues including financial fraud and misappropriation, family discord, wealth protection, the conduct of general litigation and the bringing of claims on the client’s behalf, domiciliary and care home funding and benefits reviews.
Beverley’s duty to make decisions on behalf of her vulnerable clients cannot be fully discharged without coming to as full an understanding of the client as a whole as is possible. A thorough but considerate approach is always necessary and wherever possible the engagement of family and friends is sought. The overarching need is to act in the best interests of the client to safeguard them from risk and support the achievement of personal goals so as to enable the client to maintain as full and independent a life as possible.
Beverley advises on all aspects of private client work including estate administrations, Lasting Powers of Attorney, will drafting and trust administration.
