Bob is a Partner in the firm's planning & infrastructure team. He is a specialist planning solicitor and has also worked at a senior level in local government including in head of legal and monitoring officer roles so is able to offer particular expertise on the probity and governance implications of development schemes. He has considerable experience of all aspects of planning law including complex planning agreements, enforcement, heritage assets, environmental assessment and neighbourhood planning. He is regularly called on to give advice on related areas of law including highways and infrastructure, village greens, assets of community value and appropriation. He also regularly advises on compulsory purchase matters and has been involved in the successful promotion of a number of CPO-backed schemes.
Bob has particular expertise in major regeneration schemes, including housing and retail led projects. He also has extensive experience in the successful promotion of local plans and related policy guidance. He also advises on issues concerning devolution and city region planning.
Bob is a Legal Associate of the RTPI. He is a visiting lecturer in planning matters at Leeds Beckett University and regularly writes on topical issues in the planning press.
