Principal AssociateBiography
Dominic is an experienced property litigator dealing with disputes for private individuals, residents associations and companies. His clients are based in the UK and overseas. He acts for both landlords and tenants alike.
He has many years of experience in property litigation with expertise in residential, commercial and mixed-use premises and extensive knowledge of property, land, and landlord and tenant law.
He has been involved in disputes relating to boundaries, easements, service charges, disrepair, assured shorthold tenancies, rent act tenancies, agricultural tenancies, dilapidations, forfeiture, trespass, nuisance, Party Walls Act, possession, rectification, sale contracts, restrictive covenants, adverse possession, lease renewals, breach of lease, defective premises and insolvency. He also has experience in contested leasehold enfranchisement cases (i.e., statutory lease extensions and statutory freehold purchases).
Dominic always emphasises the financial exposure and pressures of litigation and promotes the importance of attempting to resolve a dispute through alternative means such as mediation, arbitration or expert determination to his clients. He applies a commercial approach to every case, balancing the client’s expectations against time and expense to minimise risk and achieve the best possible outcome.
Dominic has worked in both the private and public sectors. He believes this has given him a unique understanding of the property industry generally.
Dominic employs a personable approach in every part of his work to put his clients at ease and encourage cooperation from opposing parties. In doing so, he aims to thwart the ordinary combative style of litigation which inevitably results in delay and cost for the client.
