Emma Jones

Emma is an Associate in the Employment, Pensions and Immigration team, based in the Birmingham office.

Emma has experience in advising company clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters. She regularly supports clients with Employment Tribunal litigation including in relation to defending claims of unfair dismissal, discrimination, unlawful deduction of wages and whistleblowing.

Emma also provides advice on day-to-day employment matters such as disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancy processes and contract/policy documentation.

Emma acts for individuals including providing advice on the terms of settlement agreements and negotiating favourable settlement packages for individuals. She also has experience of acting for individuals in relation to Employment Tribunal litigation.

Notable experience

• Emma has previously acted for a number of individual and company respondents, including a high-profile individual, in defending complex sexual harassment allegations against them including taking the matter to the Employment Appeal Tribunal;
• Emma has experience of negotiating favourable settlements for a number of clients, both for individuals and for companies who wished to settle the disputes;
• Emma has successfully acted for a company in defending claims of unfair dismissal and wrongful dismissal; and
• Emma has experience of carrying out large contract/policy reviews for company clients.
