Gemma Corlett

Gemma one of the team managers in the healthcare team at Weightmans, working on clinical negligence claims, for both hospital trusts, insurers and private practitioners. She joined Weightmans in 2021 as Principal Associate and promoted to the role of Team Manager in May 2022.

Gemma has over 12 years' experience acting for clients such as hospital Trusts, GPs, dentists and private healthcare organisations.

The majority of Gemma's work is high-value multimillion pound claims, usually birth injury cases, representing NHS Resolution. She has handled cases that have settled for over £20 million. She has extensive experience of both liability and quantum investigations in these matters.

Gemma also has experience of obstetric, spinal injury, amputation, oncology and surgical claims. She has also handled a number of delay in diagnosing meningitis cases involving minors. She provides specialist advice to dental practitioners.

Gemma also manages a team of junior fee earners, working on lower value, but complex cases.
