Jawaid Rehman

Jawaid joined Weightmans in 2007 and is the head of our HR Rely product and a partner in the employment, pensions and immigration team. He specialises in equal pay, implementing pay schemes and advising on major restructuring projects. He has project managed change initiatives that have involved over 15,000 employees and a group action of over 2000 equal pay claims.

Jawaid has particular expertise in advising clients in the hospitality sector including Pizza Express, Wasabi, TGI Fridays and Whitbread. He has also advised on complex re-organisation projects in the public sector.

Jawaid has certain clients for which he manages projects that involve multidisciplinary legal issues, such as opening/closing restaurants and construction projects. He is responsible for being the point of contact for the client and ensuring that the most appropriate legal expertise is deployed (from real estate and finance lawyers to regulatory and commercial) in the most cost-effective manner. He effectively acts as their in-house counsel, working in total partnership with the client's internal team.

Jawaid also advises clients on a more strategic level at project boards at the cutting edge of decision making. He has had many articles published in leading publications such as The Times, the Grocer, the Caterer and People Management.
