Kiran trained as claimant clinical negligence lawyer specialising in mental health claims.
Kiran has worked on behalf of the General Dental Council investigating dentist's conduct and preparing cases for hearing before the Council. Over the past 17 years, Kiran has specialised in medical defence litigation advising NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts/bodies.
As a Partner, Kiran has supervised a variety of medical negligence matters including a portfolio of ophthalmic, oncological, surgical and catastrophic claims and she has been successful in the defence of many large value claims against the NHS and resolving claims early by mediation. As well as her management and client relationship role, she personally advises NHS Trusts on their most difficult, high profile and sensitive cases often involving novel points of law, death or catastrophic injury.
Kiran has lectured extensively on both medico legal and clinical risk management issues as well as trends in litigation and learning points for health and safety at board level.
Kiran has previously been the lead partner responsible for internal and external training and in her role facilitated a clinical risk forum group for healthcare Trusts and was the course lead for a clinical risk and claims management course widely regarded as the definitive qualification for clinical risk managers and claims managers for NHS Trusts and private healthcare bodies.
