Liz joined Weightmans in September 2007 as a trainee solicitor, qualifying in 2009. Prior to joining Weightmans, she worked for national and international charities for 16 years in the social care sector. Since qualifying, she has worked exclusively for NHS clients on a range of litigation and advisory issues.

Liz manages high-value complex clinical negligence including birth claims and catastrophic injury claims. She also undertakes early investigations following birthing incidents, working with clinicians to identify learning with an aim to reducing harm, assessing exposure to liability and advising on duty of candour admissions.

Liz delivers training to NHS staff on a wide range of issues including legal issues arising from consent, vulnerable adults, midwifery and liberty protection safeguards as well as practical training on the litigation process and being a witness.
