Peter Wake

Peter trained at Weightmans and qualified in 2003. He became a partner in 2011. He was elected as Senior Partner in 2024.

He acts for local authorities across the country, fire and rescue authorities, education establishments and housing providers.

Peter has particular expertise in defending professional negligence and human rights claims against social services and education authorities. He also specialises in abuse claims including historical matters, multi-claimant cases and group actions.

Peter has a special interest in defamation, privacy and data protection law. He also represents local authorities at inquests, particularly Article 2 inquiries and inquests that involve safeguarding issues, social care and Children's Services departments.
