Philip is a Partner in our corporate team. He acts for clients in various sectors, including information technology and e-commerce, the NHS and the private health sector, charities, telecoms, chemical manufacturing, debt collection, serviced office accommodation, supplies to the contracting industry, property and property development.
Philip advises on:
- commercial contracts;
- mergers and acquisitions;
- joint ventures;
- IT (including software, hardware and other IT-related matters);
- healthcare law;
- data protection;
- e-commerce;
- private equity;
- management buy-outs and buy-ins;
- charity law;
- corporate structured property transactions; and
- business start-ups.
Philip has lectured on contracting, charity shared services, data protection, corporate mergers and acquisitions and management buy-outs.

- acting for a bank on a £40m corporate property acquisition
- negotiating a £35m IT outsourcing contract and other outsourcing projects
- advising health bodies on out of hours and facilities management outsourcings
- advising on the £19m acquisition of a shopping centre
- acting for the sellers in a £12m leveraged management buy-in
- acting for the purchaser on the $11m acquisition of a debt collection group
- advising a software company in relation to an $8m investment by venture capital house
- advising on long term catering contracts
- advising on a joint venture in relation to services for the Channel Tunnel
- acting for the purchaser of air conditioning component businesses
