Rebecca has more than 9 years post qualification experience. She is an Associate in the Crime and Regulation team in our Leeds office. This team focuses on defending organisations and individuals who may find themselves investigated by various regulators and prosecuting authorities including the Police, DVSA, HSE, CQC, Trading Standards and other departments within local authorities whose responsibility it is to enforce regulatory offences. The team in Leeds also has a particular specialism and extensive experience providing services to the transport and logistics industry including regulatory road transport, motoring offences and prosecutions.

She advises, defends and represents operators of goods and passenger vehicles on any related issue. With experience and specialist knowledge she regularly represents operators at Public Inquiries before the Traffic Commissioner and with complex DVSA investigations.

Rebecca holds a Law Society accreditation in Criminal Litigation for both Police Station Representation and for Advocacy in the Magistrates Court.  She is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association. She was a duty solicitor for over 6 years and has advocated at thousands of Magistrates Court hearings and police interviews. She offers advice and representation at all stages of Magistrates’ and Crown Court proceedings and regularly appears at Court representing companies and individuals facing prosecution for the full range of criminal offences.

She has extensive knowledge of all aspects of road traffic law from speeding to death by dangerous driving and regularly appears at Magistrates Courts all over the country.

She regularly advises clients on decisions of regulatory bodies, ultra vires decisions of the lower courts and decisions of local authorities and assesses cases for their suitability for Judicial Review and appeal.
