Sam qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has practiced in the field of insurance fraud and technical insurance/indemnity since then, with a particular focus on motor fraud.
She handles a wide range of complex cases for her clients with expertise in cases involving fraud rings, staged/contrived and induced accidents, phantom passengers, credit hire fraud, late claims/claims farming, LVI/exaggerated cases, and some employers' liability fraud. Sam has recently provided training on various CPR provisions, credit hire fraud, and fundamental dishonesty.
Some of her recent cases of relevance are:
- Suspected staged accident, claim dismissed with a finding of fundamental dishonesty and recovered a counterclaim of £10,000 and defence costs of £11,000.
- Late claim by a minor, claim dismissed with a finding of fundamental dishonesty and recovered defence costs of £6,000.
- Late claim where Sam identified that the claimant took part in a weightlifting competition during the prognosis period. Claim discontinued and recovered costs in full.
- LVI/exaggerated claim by claimant and her two young children who were passengers in a taxi. Claim discontinued at the doors of court and claimant gave an undertaking not to pursue claims by her children.
