Simon is a corporate partner in our Newcastle office. Simon has more than twenty years’ experience advising on high-value international transactions gained at leading international law firms in London and New York.
Simon has extensive experience advising clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, restructurings and company law across a range of sectors including TMT, energy and life sciences. Before returning to Newcastle, spent the majority of his career at Freshfields and what is now A&O Shearman in both London and New York. Simon has been recognised by IFLR as a Rising Star and ranked as Highly Regarded for M&A.
Notable matters on which Simon has advised include the acquisition of Volvo Cars by Geely, the acquisition of Virgin Media by Liberty Global, the creation of tracking shares in Liberty Global, the first ever tracking stock issued by an English plc, and the acquisition of Canary Wharf by QIA and Brookfield.
