Sophie is an Associate in the Employment, Pensions and Immigration Team. She provides advice on contentious and non-contentious employment law and HR matters. Her clients are predominantly employers, who she supports to navigate their relationships with staff and contractors while ensuring their business interests are protected.
Sophie provides strategic advice on employee exits, particularly those involving senior employees, as well as HR projects such as redundancies, restructures and outsourcing arrangements. In addition, she has a wealth of experience advising on day-to-day HR matters such as grievance and disciplinary investigations, dismissals, and managing sickness absence and performance.
On the contentious side, Sophie advises on the disputes that arise between employers and their workers, including complex employment tribunal claims of whistleblowing, constructive unfair dismissal and discrimination.
Sophie is well-versed in providing advice on business protection through the use of post-termination restrictions and she is also an experienced transactional lawyer who works with our Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate teams on the employment-related issues arising on transactions such as outsourcing, corporate restructuring and business acquisitions and disposals.
The clients Sophie works with come from a wide range of sectors, but she has a particular focus on owner-managed businesses, education and healthcare.
