Tracy Lake joined the firm as a partner in the Commercial Team from National Grid plc where she spent ten years supporting numerous National Grid businesses in relation to both day-to-day issues and large infrastructure projects, including its core gas and electricity businesses, advising on a wide range of commercial matters associated with National Grid’s key contracts and industry codes, as well as projects and regulatory issues. Tracy also supported National Grid’s “non-core” businesses, National Grid Metering (in relation to both domestic and industrial and commercial customers), National Grid Interconnectors and National Grid Grain LNG.
Tracy is an experienced Commercial Solicitor who is able to build strong relationships at all levels of business to enable advice and support to be provided in a commercial and collaborative way. Tracy is also passionate about developing others and is an experienced mentor, as well as being an inclusion & diversity champion and mental health first aider within the firm. She was, for six years, also Chairwoman of a local football club in Solihull and remains involved in the Club at a strategic level.
Prior to joining National Grid in 2008, Tracy spent seventeen years at Severn Trent Water Ltd, where she qualified, and therefore has vast experience of working as an in-house utilities lawyer, providing valuable insight into how external lawyers can add real value and efficiency to in-house teams.
