Our national business restructuring team is led by four core partners, supported by six other partners and over 20 more dedicated staff. We act for insolvency practitioners, stakeholders, corporate entities and directors, handling all aspects of corporate restructuring work, and can advise on how to restructure a business to keep it trading, including restructuring the balance sheet, rescheduling debts and raising new funds. The team also assist with advising directors on their duties and providing contingency advice.

Where restructuring isn't possible or desirable, we can help maximise the value gained for a company’s creditors through formal processes such as administration and liquidation.

Our restructuring and insolvency lawyers also have extensive experience advising on solvent restructuring projects, ranging from demergers (whether to separate assets following a shareholder dispute, facilitate a sale or create separate and distinct companies or groups) to capital reductions to create distributable reserves or return surplus capital to shareholders and internal group reorganisations of assets or subsidiaries.

By drawing on expertise across a range of disciplines from tax and corporate to property and employment we are able to ensure that any restructuring or internal reorganisation is carried out in an efficient manner, utilising the available tax reliefs and exemptions and helping to budget for, and manage, the costs of the project.
