New partners strengthen Weightmans’ leadership and contribute to the firm’s continued growth and excellence.
Weightmans has announced its annual promotions to kick start the new financial year.
Joanna Carty, promoted to partner in the Casualty police team in Leicester, is recognised for her expertise in complex liability cases. Nick Gray, now a partner in Corporate in Newcastle, has extensive experience in corporate transactions, helping clients with mergers, acquisitions, and business growth. Paman Singh, elevated to partner in the Employment team in Glasgow, is known for his deep knowledge of employer and public liability, guiding clients through challenging risk matters. Abhay Srivastava, appointed partner in London, is the firm's Head of ESG, and leads its environmental, social, and governance initiatives, advancing sustainable practices and supporting clients with evolving regulatory needs.
Together, these individuals strengthen Weightmans’ leadership and contribute fresh perspectives, specialist knowledge, and energy to the firm’s continued growth and excellence. It brings the firm’s total number of partners to 264.
Weightmans has also promoted 12 lawyers to legal director. In Manchester, Nick Barker has been promoted in the Regulatory team and Lorraine Wilson in Private Wealth. In Birmingham, Saul Burton has been promoted in Casualty and Sarbjit Nanuwa in Risk & Compliance. In London, Peter Cutler has been promoted in Healthcare and Nicholas Story in Casualty.
In Leicester, Shelley Dell has been promoted in Regulatory and Asema Natha in Local Government. In Liverpool, Kieran Hearty and Felicity Lowe have both been promoted within the Large Loss team, alongside Joanna Rees in Casualty and Sarah Williams in Employment.

The news follows Weightmans’ mergers with Elborne Mitchell and Myton Law that strengthen the firm’s presence in London and Leeds and expand its national and international offering, with a continued focus on client service excellence.
