Strategic appointments strengthen firm’s regional presence and service excellence
Weightmans has announced the appointment of three accomplished Partners - Leah Heatley, Theresa Carling, and Simon Little - to its team in Newcastle, marking another milestone in the firm’s ongoing expansion and commitment to delivering outstanding client service in the northeast of England.
Leah Heatley joins from Muckle LLP as a specialist dispute resolution lawyer. Leah brings broad cross-sector expertise in all aspects of commercial litigation, including contract disputes, shareholder and director disagreements, and breach of confidence claims. Leah’s arrival adds further depth to the firm’s disputes offering in Newcastle and supports the team’s growing profile across the region.
Theresa Carling joins as a Partner in the Employment team. Previously Head of Department at The Endeavour Partnership, Theresa has built a reputation for her expertise in employment law, handling complex matters from multi-party discrimination claims to contract drafting and advisory work. Her client-focused approach has fostered strong relationships across multiple sectors, particularly in Teesside.
Simon Little joins as a Partner in the Corporate team. An experienced corporate lawyer, Simon specialises in advising clients on cross-border acquisitions, restructuring, and capital raising projects, as well as public and private mergers and acquisitions. His experience will be invaluable in supporting clients through complex transactions and further enhancing the capability of the Newcastle office.
In a further development, Angela Kirtley has been appointed as Newcastle’s new Regional Office Head. Angela, a partner in the Health sector team, takes over the role from Christopher Graham.
