The high-profile sites in Oxfordshire and Wigan which have made the national news have shone a light on this issue which is widespread.
Often local authorities find themselves under pressure to act in relation to such sites either in their capacity as Landlord, regulator/EHO, and more generally.
The management of these sites can be complex and often requires a multi regulator approach with authorities working together with the Environment Agency, sometimes the County Council and others.
Often there can be pressure from impacted residents and businesses, sometimes with the support of law firms.
The session will provide essential guidance on the area and there will be an opportunity to put forward any questions you may have.
